The LGBTQ+ Pride Flag & Color Symbolism
The original LGBTQ+ Pride Flag was created by artist Gilbert Baker and made its debut on June 25th, 1978.
Since its debut, the original flag has changed and been updated to represent the intersectional diversity of the LGBTQ+ community.
This exhibit, aims to explore the symbolism behind each color included in the LGBTQ+ Pride Flag through art, and provide more information on the history and evolution of the banner.

Welcoming Pride Service
at St. Stephen's Church
Kicking off our formal week of events, Reverend Gregory Perez and the entire congregation of St. Stephen's Church invite the community to a special Sunday Pride Service.
Dress in your Sunday Best or come as you are!
Be welcomed, and enjoy this time to practice reflection and gratitude.
The service will include the Holy Eucharist, of which all are invited to our communion table and no one is excluded.
In addition, in observance of Father's Day a special blessing will be given to families, guardians, and anyone who may serve in a Father-figure role to their children.

This year's Panel Discussion will focus on Education and the significance of being able to discuss gender and sexuality in the classroom.

LGBTQ+ Artist Showcase
The LGBTQ+ Art Gallery showcases creative works by LGBTQ+ identifying artists from the City of Lynn, other areas of the Massachusetts, and even artists from across the globe.
Accepted artwork includes: paintings, photographs, poetry, prints, sculpture, and other visual artworks.

Pride Flag Raising
The raising of the Pride Flag at City Hall has been an annual tradition in Lynn, MA for years.
By continuing this tradition, the City of Lynn affirms its commitment to supporting it's LGBTQ+ identifying residents and honoring their right to express their identities
In addition to the annual Flag Raising, their will be speeches from local leaders and performances by talented individuals and groups from the city.

Community Meal: Pride, Food, & Fellowship
For United Lynn Pride 2023, St. Stephen's Church will host the 2nd Annual Community Meal event, "Pride, Food, & Fellowship".
The community meal is meant to build connection through good food, good people, and good experiences.
This year, in addition to St. Stephen's providing food, we invite those interested to share a dish of their own, for a potluck style event.

The lights beneath the commuter rail underpass have provided safety and visibility for the community since their installation in 2018.
The Rainbow Bridge Lighting event is a moment for the residents of Lynn to come together and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community while enjoying music, live performances, & the beautiful and colorful illumination of the LED lights downtown.
Continuing in the practice of recognizing leaders in our community, United Lynn Pride and the City of Lynn will be recognizing an individual with an Honorable Accreditation. If you have someone you believe should be recognized for their work supporting the LGBTQ+ in Lynn, MA, please nominate them using the form below.
