1909 - Women's suffrage lays the groundwork for LGBTQ+ rights.

Lynn, MA

Sisters Mrs. Susanna Berry and Ellen Wetherell, leaders of the suffragist movement in the Lynn area. Berry had a summer cottage in Nahant where the two of them lived until death. Known as fierce advocates for suffrage, they lived, fought, struggled, and ultimately were laid to rest together. Women's suffrage laid the groundwork for LGBTQ+ rights.
